If your name is Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, it's pretty simple to get the media's attention (or the Department of Justice, in Bill's case -- but that's another story). Unfortunately, you will need to develop an angle for promoting your business and getting into print. That's where we can help.
Think how your company helps an individual do something better, faster, or different. By giving your company announcement a personal spin, you have a much better chance of publication.
Here are some questions we'll help you answer in preparation for working with the media:
How are We Better than Our Competition?
We'll brainstorm with you to list several compelling reasons why a customer should purchase your product rather than a competitor's. Are you the first to offer this service? The only company that sells this product? Prometheus Promotions will ensure you have solid evidence of your claims; preferably, from analysts or satisfied customers. |

Do We have Customer References?
If you have customers that are willing to speak on your behalf to the media, treat them like gold. Editors always want an unbiased opinion of your products and to speak with someone who is familiar with them. With every sale, you should ask your customer up-front if they would be willing to act as a reference if they're happy with your product. We'll make sure to follow-up in a timely fashion and get their permission in writing, if necessary.
What are Our Key Messages?
What do you want people to remember most about your company: Industry leader? Cost-effective solution? Innovative products? These messages will be the basis of every communication we send out on your behalf -- press releases, sales and marketing collateral, success stories, etc. We'll help you to state your key messages in 30 seconds or less; this is known as the critical "elevator pitch." |
